The underground hangar you're about to enter houses an alien warship constructed at the end of the last war. The technology in this ship is more valuable to the Brotherhood than anything that has come before.
- Kane, to Anton Slavik(src)

The Scrin ship[1] was a mysterious flying ship seen during the Second Tiberium War. It was constructed by the Brotherhood of Nod using technology from the Tacitus.

History[]

Origin[]

The Scrin ship was a Nod attempt to replicate the Scrin technology found in the Tacitus, hence its name.[2]

It was constructed by the Brotherhood of Nod at the end of the First Tiberium War, after which it was stored in an underground hangar below the Temple of Nod in Sarajevo, which apparently survived the Temple of Nod's destruction intact. In addition, it also housed the Tacitus.[3]

Second Tiberium War[]

Following Nod's recapture of the old Sarajevo Temple, Kane ordered Anton Slavik to recover the ship from its hangar. However, Nod general Vega reached the ship first and attempted to fly it to South America to "settle an old score". Unable to control the ship, Vega crashed it in the southern United States.[3]

Slavik's forces eventually secured the crash site. However, the Tacitus was no longer there, having been taken by the Forgotten to their headquarters. The Nod scouts in the ship were then ambushed and killed by the Forgotten warrior Umagon.[4]

While searching for Vega, a GDI forward scout discovered the Scrin ship's crash site, remarking that it was as large as a carrier and that it did not seem to have been made by human hands.[5]

The ship was revealed to have been booby trapped with various C4 charges. However, the detonation of these charges failed to even damage the ship.[6] After repelling a Nod attempt to destroy the ship, Commander Michael McNeil led a team inside and discovered it to be empty, with Chandra remarking that Vega's men must have already taken everything.[7]

Inside the ship, McNeil encountered Umagon, who offered to help him locate Vega in exchange for rescuing the mutant leader Tratos.[7] Eventually, McNeil and his forces broke into Vega's base. There, McNeil interrogated Vega as he was dying from an Eye Candy overdose, asking him what happened to the technology that they stole from the ship. However, Vega replied that Kane did not steal the ship, he built it, and that Kane has the Tacitus.[8]

When McNeil confronted Kane in the Cairo Nod Pyramid, Kane boasted that the Tacitus had told him of, among others, "invulnerable flying ships", presumably referring to the Scrin ship.[9]

What ultimately became of the Scrin ship is unknown.
