The Command & Conquer Wiki aims to provide a comprehensive compilation of official information from the C&C universe. Official information comes from official C&C products or other officially sanctioned sources.

Canon information is not the same as official. Canon is a subset of official and pertains to the continuity of the C&C universes. For example, all campaigns are official but not all campaigns are canon.

Retcons[]

Information from newer products should complement information from older ones, with retcons being included if they make sense in the context of the universe and the games. If a retcon does not make sense, this should be noted on the article page.

Universes[]

There are three C&C universes. In addition the games may have multiple campaigns of which only one may be acknowledged as leading to a true conclusion. Below are some notes on the canonical hierarchy to be followed.

15 *Command & Conquer Bible Information may be included, but conflicts with canon are to be stressed
16 *Tiberium (game) Information from the cancelled game may be included, with the appropriate source tags.

Dune universe[]

Though not officially part of the Command & Conquer franchise, the Dune RTS games have related origin and similar gameplay. Dune II is considered to be the genesis of the Command & Conquer series. The Command & Conquer Wiki will only cover the games developed by Westwood Studios. Other Dune games (such as those by Cryo Interactive and Funcom) will not be covered.

Precedence Source Notes
1 Emperor: Battle for Dune
2 Dune 2000
3 Dune II
4 Duniverse Materials from outside the Westwood games, such as Frank Herbert's Dune novels, may be used for background information or to stress the games' relations to source material in a summarized manner.

Canonical information in non-canonical campaigns[]

Sometimes information about pre-game events is revealed in non-canonical campaigns. This information may be treated as canonical.

Information from non-canonical campaigns which do not interfere with canonical campaigns may also be treated as canonical. Note that events in non-canonical campaigns should not be treated as canonical even if they do not interfere.

Article writing[]

Including official non-canonical information[]

Although some campaigns are not canonical for completeness the wiki includes information from them. Official, but non-canonical information, should not be mixed with canonical content. They should be placed in separate sections and clearly marked by notices found in Category:Message boxes.

Red Alert[]

The first Red Alert is part of both the Tiberium and Red Alert universes. Use of notices found in Category:Message boxes may avoid confusion when presenting information from both universes in a single article.

Speculation[]

Excessive baseless speculation is not considered appropriate for this Wiki and shall be purged relentlessly. Logical extrapolation is welcome, as long as it doesn't dominate the article and bases on facts included in the game.
