I'm all packed up!
- Sputnik

The vehicle known only as the Sputnik is the Soviet equivalent to the Allied Prospector.

Background[]

An unexpected product of a failed Soviet orbital probe project[1], the Sputnik was repurposed as a base expansion vehicle by the Soviet military. Thanks to the Sputnik, the Soviets are able to create smaller bases for easier deployment of troops or steady supply of income.

Game unit[]

The Sputnik is an unarmed amphibious craft, able to be produced at both the war factory and the naval yard. A deployed Sputnik gives ground control to the commander, and structures can be built near the outpost. However, it is very vulnerable, and must be adequately protected from enemy assaults. Its deployment time is also rather short.
