France is a country of Western Europe. It is considered one of the world's superpowers since the 17th century, and is considered a developed nation. It was also a founding member of the United Nations, as well as a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council. It was a major Allied combatant in all the major wars of the 20th century.

Third World War, first iteration[]
During the Third World War, General Réne Lyon helped negotiate the entry of the European countries, including France, into the war on the side of the Americans against the Soviets. The French contributed the Grand Cannon to the Allied arsenal.

Soviet forces advanced to Paris and transformed the Paris Tower into a gigantic Tesla Tower by charging it with Tesla Troopers. Much of downtown Paris was destroyed as the Allied forces were instantly vaporized by the Tower's powerful Tesla strikes. The French were knocked out of the war, and Germany and Great Britain subsequently surrendered after Chrono Defense and The Fox and the Hound, respectively.
Third World War, third iteration[]

France again saw fighting on its soil during the new Third World War. The country was initially overrun by Soviet forces, but after a successful mission in Cannes to scuttle the Soviet naval base and rescue the Allied leaders, the whole country was later liberated by the Allies.
French contribution to the war included the Mirage tank.

- Paris: The famed "City of Lights". In the Soviet perspective, the French Allied forces in the city surrendered to Soviet forces after Tesla Troopers turned the Paris Tower into a massive Tesla Coil. During the Third World War's third iteration, Soviet Apocalypse tanks were shown entering the city en masse on BCN.
- Cannes: A famous coastal town in southern France. Allied leaders captured by Soviet forces were rescued by Tanya and Warren, who drove to capture the buildings the leaders were held in during the early stages of the third iteration of the Third World War.

Judging from commented out lines in the rules.ini of Red Alert 2, France was meant to have defenses' build times decreased by 25% at one point during the development.

Tiberium universe[]
In 1995, as a member of the United Nations Security Council and the G8, France helped form the Global Defense Initiative. During the First Tiberium War, Honore Prichard served as France's President. By the Third Tiberium War, France was partially a Yellow Zone in the south and a Blue Zone in the north. During the Incursion War, Paris (the capital) has been invaded by Nod Separatists and probably destroyed.
