0.5 seconds (initial)
Beam splits to hit multiple targets after 3 seconds
Stores charge for one second.
Background[edit | edit source]
The Giga-Cannon is the largest and most terrifying result of Nod's research into directed energy weapons and AI systems. Developed as the true predecessor to Nod's Beam Cannon, the Giga-Cannon's refractive laser is capable of cutting through large enemy formations with ease.
Abilities[edit | edit source]
Can target infantry, effective against vehicles, cannot target air. Beam splits to hit multiple targets after 3 seconds (12 attack rounds). Can attack up to 2 tiles away.
Game unit[edit | edit source]
Being a positional unit, Giga-Cannon is somewhat opposite that of M.L.R.S. At the start of the attack the damage is minimal, but as the time goes on, the damage output ramps up considerably. In the final stage it will melt down even the infantry without much effort.
Since the wait time until full power takes 6 whole seconds, Giga-Cannon benefits a lot form the Fanaticism, which both increases the Attack Speed right away, but also reduces the time to full power down to 3.5 seconds.
The Giga-Cannon is already a lightly armored unit and even more so if boosted by Oxanna, therefore a good protection is required. One good candidate is Laser Squad, which can deter aircraft assault and any ground anti vehicle units sent to destroy the Giga-Cannon.
It is often used to harass harvesters and for direct base attacks.
Personality[edit | edit source]
Robot that emits electromechanicalsounds. When asked to do impossible things or being attacked, emits lower pitch noises. When idle. turns around a bit.
