Shai "Hotwire" Aviv is an Israeli commando appearing in Renegade.

Background[]

A tough-as-nails commando and a woman of few words. Prior to joining GDI, Shai Aviv was a member of the Israeli Mossad, where she served with distinction. When she joined the Dead 6, she took on the roles of tactical engineer, proving to be an invaluable asset on the battlefield, when vehicle repair, structure capturing and demolitions were needed.[1]

Overview[]

Campaign[]

Hotwire first appears in Deadly Reunion, she is pinned down in a building near the Triangle Garden. Clearing the debris and killing the enemies in the area will liberate her.[2] She later appears along with the other Dead 6 in the eighth mission, Obelisk of Oppression, where Havoc has to escort Hotwire to the SAM sites so she can convert Nod vehicles to GDI control.[3]

Multiplayer[]

Hotwire is playable in the multiplayer C&C mode, where she costs 350 credits, has 200 health and 100 armor like any other tier 2 character, and is the only character (except for her Nod equivalent, the technician), that comes supplied with an advanced repair gun, two timed C4's, two remote C4's and six proximity mines. Compared to the repair gun that comes supplied with the freely available Engineer, hers can repair units and buildings twice as fast and has a considerably higher range. This, compared to the relatively low credit cost, and despite her only offensive weapon being an automatic pistol, makes her one of the most useful characters in the multiplayer C&C mode.
