Intelligent Games, Ltd. was a video game development company founded in 1988 as The Intelligent Games Co. by Matthew Stibbe. In their early years, they focused on Amiga and DOS games, shifting to Windows later on. By 1999, the company had a staff of 65. Matthew Stibbe left the company in 2000, selling it to the management. The company started developing for contemporary consoles (PlayStation, GameCube and Xbox) in 2001, and PlayStation 2 in 2002. A short-lived Palm OS division was formed in 2002. The company closed in December 2002.[1]

In the Command & Conquer series, Intelligent Games was credited for creating the bulk of the multiplayer maps for Counterstrike and The Aftermath in 1997. They were shortly thereafter called by Westwood Studios to develop Dune 2000 (released in 1998) as a remake of Dune II: The Building of a Dynasty, and later Emperor: Battle for Dune (released in 2001) as a sequel to both.
