Kremlin (Russian: Кремль) is a Russian word for "fortress" or "citadel", and used to refer to various fortified centres of medieval Russian cities. The most famous of these is of course the Kremlin in Moscow. Originally built as a royal palace complex, it is now the main administrative building of Soviet Union.

History[]

Third World War (first iteration)[]

We will never surrender! Death to the Allies!
- Romanov impostor or himself, as Allied tank divisions moved in

The Kremlin was a Soviet capital building and a working place of Romanov and his assistant Yuri.

At the end of the war, Tanya managed to infiltrate it and capture the Premier. The mission fails if the building is destroyed or garrisoned.

In the Soviet campaign, the whole Kremlin and were under Yuri's control. This information surfaced when the Premier's last video tape leaked among the military, and since Yuri was already at the Kremlin, the Commander destroyed it. However, Yuri managed to survive the attack, as he contacted the Commander psychically.

Third World War (third iteration)[]

Later, it was discovered that in the basement of this building was a secretly developed Time Machine developed by Gregor Zelinsky, which was used by General Krukov and Anatoly Cherdenko to change history, upbringing the Soviet Union from the brink of defeat in the Post-war Crisis to a glorious victory.

Erasing Einstein caused alternations in the timeline: the Russian military HQ was no longer in the old Kremlin Palace building, but in a newly built skyscraper with a great statue of Lenin on top. The statue was taken down after the Allied victory in the Third World War.

In the Soviet campaign, the skyscraper came under attack by machine guns, shooting from a helicopter. This was alleged to be a part of a plot to assassinate Premier Cherdenko. Yet, he survived and later it was discovered that in fact Cherdenko staged the attempt on his life to frame General Krukov, leading to his demise (The Science of War).

In the Imperial campaign, the new skyscraper HQ and the Time Machine were destroyed while high-ranking officers escaped on board a Twinblade (Crumble Kremlin Crumble).

Trivia[]

  • The design of the Kremlin after Cherdenko's tampering with the timeline is based on Boris Iofan's design for the scrapped Palace of the Soviets. The palace was intended to function as an administrative center and a congress hall but, the project was terminated after the German invasion of 1941.
