Every mod and plugin, including the base game and the expansion, have their own folders for core files, saved games and screenshots. When the game is closed, all mod files are deactivated as well, as they no longer conflict with the base game files. It comes with in-built Syringe and Ares technologies, as well as an updater that can search for updates for LaunchBase itself, Ares and supported plug-ins. The Ares project became more popular to use individually, and LaunchBase became less popular and eventually forgotten despite the main Ares website still holding a link to LaunchBase as a recommended way of using it.
