The Shockwave Troopers is a rare GDI unit in Command & Conquer: Rivals.

Background[edit | edit source]

Shockwave Troopers are elite GDI ground troops armed with miniaturized Disruptor technology. Although less powerful than the Disruptor, the Shockwave Troopers’ lower cost and ability to be deployed from the Barracks has made them a staple among GDI infantry forces.[2]

Personality[edit | edit source]

Uses a lot of sound related idioms, strong sense of comradery. When idle, puts the sonic weapon on the shoulder.

Abilities[edit | edit source]

  • Effective against infantry and structures.
  • Reveals adjacent stealthed units.

Game unit[edit | edit source]

As powerful infantry squads, Shockwave Troopers excel at eliminating enemy infantry and directly assaulting structures. They counter heavy infantry, and are adept at attacking structures, like Obelisk of Light and Minigun Turret. Furthermore, they reveal adjacent stealth units. They are weak against anti-infantry vehicles and air as well as Confessors.[2]

Their high health stats means they will be able to hold the line even against vehicles for considerable length of times, which makes them suited for holding pads.

It shares the same stats and abilities as the Flame troopers.

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

The unit was introduced to the game as it was deemed that GDI lacked a mid-tier unit to counter units like zone troopers and cyborgs.[2]
