The Sniper team is an epic GDI infantry unit in Command & Conquer: Rivals.
Background[edit | edit source]
The sniper team is an elite infantry unit useful for eliminating enemy infantry at long range. In addition to their high-caliber GLS-70 sniper rifle, the Sniper Team sports a distinctive Ghillie Cloak, the sight of which strikes fear into Nod infantry the world over.
Abilities[edit | edit source]
Effective against infantry. Can attack up to 2 tiles away. Reveals adjacent stealthed units.[2]
Game unit[edit | edit source]
Due to it's long range, Sniper Team is effective against all infantry, even Chemical Warriors and Confessors (so long as they can keep the distance). The distance can be maintained either with blocking units or retreating after taking the shots.
Snipers work well together with War Dogs and Pitbulls, both of which are great early game blocking units.
Snipers are vulnerable to aircraft, like Venoms, which can ignore established blocking units. Drill Pod can be a headache too, since it can emerge right next to the snipers.
