User blog:Privatejfx141/C&CF2P because of End of Nations?

I think that it maybe possible for EA to change Generals 2 into a free-to-play because of another F2P RTS called End of Nations. On August 11, 2011, Petroglyph Games announced that End of Nations will be released as a F2P MMORTS, and then four days later EA announced that Generals 2 will be a F2P under the title of Command & Conquer. I think EA wants to start a competition with Petroglyph Games, since Petroglyph Games is a company formed by Westwood employees after Westwood became defunct. However, while End of Nations is an "MMO"RTS, EA didn't announce that Command & Conquer F2P will be an MMORTS. If C&CF2P were to be an MMORTS, I don't think it will do well.

Comments[edit | edit source]

While I assume End of Nations was an influence, I suspect the simple fact is EA is continuously trying to chase the F2P model, seeing the success of games like Angry Birds, World of Warcraft (Currently) and Jetpack Joyride. As such, they're likely to try and cram it in where ever they can, whether logical or not.
