The following is based on the spin off novel by Keith R. A. DeCandido and might contradict canon. |
Alessio "Dish" Bowles is a rifleman in the Tiberium Wars novel.
Background
He was in the 22nd Infantry Division on the Huron, under the command of Michael McNeil. His entire family had left for Nod territory and severed all ties to him after he joined GDI. He hired a private investigator (who became a good friend of his) to help him track them down - with little success.
Character development
He served with Ricardo Vega and Gallagher and became good friends of theirs during the war. He fought in San Diego, Madagascar, Australia, and many other locales during the war. He was a decisive part in saving Joseph Takeda from Nod Captain Al-Rashan. He also captured a Nod commando- but was too late to stop him from mortally wounding Bowles's friend "Angry Puppy" Momoa.
While he fought valiantly at all locales, he was never promoted from Private because GDI thought that if he had too high a rank he could leak information to his family in Nod. This caused conflicts between Vega and Gallagher, because Gallagher believed that Vega was being promoted because of his heritage, and Bowles was actually fighting and not getting promoted. Before the Scrin invasion, his private investigator thought they tracked down his mother, but it was not her and she advised him to give up the search. He did not.
During the last battle of the war, he was exposed to Tiberium. At his request Penny Sookdeo, a W3N reporter, recorded a final message to his family where he expressed his anger about them abandoning him to worship the very thing that killed him.
Appearances
Bowles appears only in the Tiberium Wars novel.
