The Black Forest (Schwarzwald) is a famous woodland in the mountainous region of south-western Germany. It is a popular tourist destination with many historic towns and natural attractions. The region also has a rich history of mining.
It was the site of Professor Albert Einstein's laboratory, including his experimental Chronosphere. The facility itself was protected by a few pillboxes. Because of the value of his research to the Allies, the road to the base was guarded by three small German military outposts, and a large Allied base was located close to the lab itself. A small village was located to the north of the laboratory.

Third World War (first iteration)[]
The Battle of Black Forest was fought here during the Third World War.
Hoping to deprive the Allies of weapons created from Einstein's experiments, and therefore vastly reduce the effectiveness with which they could retaliate, the Soviet Union and its allies launched a three-pronged attack on the laboratory.
After demolishing the three German border outposts and establishing bases of their own, the three armies moved on to replicate their success on the laboratory itself and the nearby Allied base charged with protecting it. However, they ultimately failed and were driven from the area by an Allied commander, who was assisted by new technology Einstein provided him.

After Soviet advisor Yuri revealed himself to be a traitor and activated his Psychic Dominator devices to enslave the entire planet, the Soviet Union desperately captured one of the Allies' time machines and traveled back to before the disaster happened with the intent to prevent it this time around. However, this also provided them with a unique opportunity - not only would they get another chance to defeat Yuri's army, but the Allies as well. As such, they launched another attack on the Black Forest laboratory, this time spearheaded by an unknown Soviet commander.
This time, the battle would see the Soviet Union emerge victorious. Though it lacked the support of its WSA allies during this attempt, the commander was able to level both the defending Allied bases as well as the laboratory and its hastily-constructed defenses. With the loss of the laboratory, the Allies surrendered, and the two longtime enemies formed a temporary union against Yuri - the first pseudo peace between the two powers since the USSR's invasion of the USA a year prior.
