The Republic of Estonia is a small country located in northern Europe. It is one of the three Baltic Republics, along with Latvia and Lithuania. It borders Latvia to the south, Russia to the east and the Baltic Sea in the north and west. The capital city is Tallinn.
History
Estonia became an independent nation following the collapse of the Russian Empire in the First World War in 1918. It was invaded by the Soviet Union in 1940 and became part of the USSR, from which it had declared independence in 1991.

During the First Tiberium War, the Republic of Estonia included a territory of 17,413 square miles with a population of 1,607,00 citizens. Estonia has not fared well in the last decade of the twentieth century; according to GDI intelligence, it had a negligible GDP and was protected by a militia force. Its weakness soon led to its occupation by the forces of the Brotherhood of Nod.
It is notable for being the location where James Solomon, under orders from GDI General Mark Jamison Shepherd, began the first offensive against Nod in Europe.[1] GDI forces under J.C. Carter encountered Nod resistance in Pärnu from a refinery base, which was later taken out under Solomon's command.[2]
